Topic: Kenn's Cards of the Week

Shield Crush, Black Magic Curtain, Dark Bribe

Well, it’s that time again, and with a (marsh)MALLOwer schedule, I've gotten to do three reviews again!  And first off is one of my favorite cards ever!  Shield Crush!  Now I know all of you are probably thinking “Yeah, but Nobleman removes all copies from play”, but I say, deal with the immediate problems first, and if you made the mistake of siding out Fissure in Game 2, and you DON’T topdeck Nobleman, if you attack into a Marshmallon, he’s going to be there for a while.  So here we have this situation, you attack into Marshmallon, then two turns later, you drop Crush to PWN Marshmallon and sweep for game.  And don’t forget that Crush works on sets, too!  And this goes without saying that it sucks to remove your own Magician of Faith, or Crystal Seers.

And another of my videogame faves!  The Black Magic Curtain!  It’s a great endgame card to let your Black Magician run rampant and sweep in, well, game range.  While the curtain sounds like the half of your LP, and the inability to play monsters face-up (that’s right, you can still set, but you won’t get Apprentice’s effect because he is technically a special summon that evades Torrential, etc.) is a HUGE cost, they’re right, but this is a card that you use to kill with, especially in a Black Magician Aggro, where you can kill in as early as the second turn with this card.  Now here’s the situation, first turn (Turn count 2) you summon an SKDM, Crush, attack, Dimension, DM, attack, TC4, BMC for game.  Now, while this is less splashable than say, Crush or my first three reviews, which work great in almost any deck, this deck need to be made right.

And here’s the last, but certainly not least, Dark Bribe, a promo from the new Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 2, Bribe is like Magic Jammer and Seven Tools of the Bandit…ON CRACK.  Dark Bribe can easily be run in a playset, as it’s free S/T negation, and its being a Counter Trap means that the only cards that can stop it are Solemn Judgment (just think, them blowing half their LP to get ANOTHER Bribe in their face!), Counter Counter, and another Bribe!  The costless aspect of this card makes it great tech times a million, and your opponent’s draw can easily be offset by their loss of a card effect.  And even though it’s only just been released, it’s already OU’ed!!! Expect to see this on the next format, it’s that great.
